Announcements are published on the World Bank website (International Competitive Bidding) and www.tenderweek.com, as well as in the Narodnoye Slovo newspaper. The project also has an official Telegram channel, where tender announcements and other project-related news are also published (link to the Telegram channel: https://t.me/msciudp).

Review and approval of project and procurement documents is carried out in accordance with the World Bank Procurement Guidelines, as well as the Regulation on the procedure for the preparation and implementation of projects with the participation of international financial institutions and foreign government financial organizations, approved by the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated July 16, 2018 No. PP-3857. 

The Project Implementation Unit (PIU) is a separate group created by the project initiator to ensure the timely and effective implementation of the project. The PIG's primary responsibilities include:

  • coordinating with the project initiator the development and review of pre-project and project documentation with authorized bodies, as well as preparing the project's procurement documentation;
  • ensuring project implementation and the timeliness of decisions at all stages of project implementation;
  • ensuring monitoring and control over project implementation, contract execution, and the effective and targeted use of financial and other resources;
  • interacting with IFIs/IFFIs on projects implemented with their participation within the scope of its competence;
  • participating as a working body of the procurement commission during procurement procedures.

The World Bank-supported project will support the development of urban infrastructure, public spaces, and municipal services in medium-sized cities across Uzbekistan, starting with Chartak (Namangan Region), Kagan (Bukhara Region), and Yangiyul (Tashkent Region).
