On March 12, 2025, a contract was signed with the contractor Henan Water & Power Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd (China) for the reconstruction of 72.5 km of the drinking water supply system in Chortoq City. Currently, the construction works include the installation of drinking water pipelines along the “A” area of Chortoqsoy and the construction of a water reservoir in the Arbag‘ish village area.

The total cost of the project is USD 24.0 million. The project aims to improve water supply, enhance drinking water quality, and ensure reliable water provision in both urban and rural areas. Construction is being carried out in stages according to the project plan, including pipeline installation, modernization of filtration systems, and construction of the main reservoir facilities.
